THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Carly Perdue, 12

Hi! I’m Carly Perdue and I am so thrilled to say that I am an Executive Board member for Mini-THON 2020-2021. This is my third year on the Marple Newtown High School’s Mini-THON leadership team. I was a part of the Spirit and Recruitment Committee my sophomore year of high school. After being on Spirit and Recruitment, I realized that I wanted to have a bigger contribution in this cause and decided to apply for an Executive Board position. I was so grateful to find out that I received the position to be on the 2019-2020 Executive Board! I love being a part in helping the kids and families in need and I am so beyond honored to help with this amazing cause. I dance to find a cure so I can eventually dance one day in celebration. I am so blessed to work with all of these amazing people to make our event great!!

I am Crystal Bower, and I am on the Executive Board for the 2020-2021 Mini-THON Leadership Team! I was on the Executive Board last year as well. I’m so excited to be dancing for a cure for childhood cancer! I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me as a person, and also for all the kids we are dancing for! FTK!

Senior Overall

Eve Turner, 12

I first got involved in Mini-THON in sophomore year after watching how hard the team worked to produce an event that the school was so passionate and spirited about by joining General Committee. My junior year I wanted to become more involved in the process so I applied for a Committee Head position. Working as a committee head for the Spirit and Recruitment Committee was a blast and made me appreciate all of the hard work we do for deserving families so much more. For my senior year I wanted to do everything I could for this club so I applied for an Executive Board position and I could not be more excited to work with this amazing group of people. I dance so that one day instead of dancing for a cure we will be dancing in celebration of one.

Senior Overall

Danny Vitale, 11

My name is Danny Vitale! I decided I wanted to be involved with this amazing cause when I saw how much fun it looked freshman year. Last year, (sophomore year) I helped out a lot on Hospitality and Merchandise as a General Committee member and I was able to get food for the event! After having a blast this year, I took a leap of faith and decided to apply for an Executive Board position because its either go big or go home! When I was notified of my acceptance onto the board I could not have been happier! Being someone who had a family member who was affected by cancer, I realized that it does not only affect the person who has cancer, but the immediate family, relatives, friends, and even coworkers and acquaintances of that person. It places a big burden, physically and emotionally, on everyone that the individual associates with. I joined this to do something bigger than myself and find a cure so that one day, kids can just be kids instead of staying in hospitals! I am so excited to work with this amazing group of people so that one day we can dance in celebration of a cure!

Junior Overall

Olivia Ebersole, 12

Freshman year was when I started attending and being involved in Mini-THON. I helped out as a part of General Committee from freshman to junior year. I specifically helped with the decorations aspect all three years. Although General Committee helps a lot with the event, I want to make more of an impact. As a senior, I am a part of the Spirit and Recruitment team and I could not be more excited. I love what this event is all about and appreciate all the time and work that goes into making Mini-THON possible. I can’t wait to be more involved and raise even more money for the kids!

I'm so excited to work with all the other Committee Heads to plan our event and hopefully reach our goal! My committee this year is Events and Entertainment. Along with my other two committee members, we can't wait to improve our events and coordinate activities that everyone can enjoy. In the past, I was on the Spirit and Recruitment Committee. It was so much fun and I got to meet so many amazing people. Watching the numbers go up at the end of the night was worth all of our hard work and the money goes to the best cause. I also met my goal on Donor Drive by sending out my link to friends and family and putting it on Facebook. I hope Mini-THON 2021 is the best one yet! FTK!!

Donor & Alumni Relations

Justin DiBona, 11

I first got involved in Mini-THON as a freshman in high school by going to the fundraisers and raising money on Donor Drive. Then, as a sophomore, I pushed to raise more money than I had in freshman year and I saw what the club was all about. I have been surrounded by people that are involved in the club and I have seen the joy that comes out of it. Seeing the joy on my friends' faces after the numbers were raised at Mini-THON made me very interested, not only in receiving that joy but also for giving that joy to the people we are doing the club for. The videos we have been showed about kids with cancer always do not end with just the kid. These diseases affect for than just the kid with the cancer. People like relatives, immediate family, and friends are also affected and I believe that with what we are doing, we can give the joy that it brings to us, back to those people that are affected. These reasons made me apply for a Committee Head position for the Donor and Alumni Committee for my upcoming junior year. I was very excited about receiving this position and after meeting with my team members, I believe we can have a lot of fun this year, and most of all, raise money to defeat childhood cancer. With our help, these kids can have a reason to smile and dance, just like they give us reasons to. I dance so that one day, we can smile with these kids after they received the cure that we are desperately trying to raise money to find.
